Are you a small to mid-sized manufacturing company and realize that for continued growth in revenue and earnings you must improve your ability to manage innovation and new product development? The Innovation Coach offered by New Product Visions are unique workshops focused on creating or improving an existing new product development (NPD) process. The workshops are accessible and affordable for small to mid-sized businesses, and a cost effective way to quickly learn how to improve your ability to manage innovation and grow revenue and earnings.
The workshops are offered in multiple formats as described below, including a new online format:
Spend one (1) day every four (4) weeks for three (3) months away from your daily responsibilities and join other non-competitive businesses struggling with similar problems. Alternatively, attend only the day(s) of interest. The workshops are being offered in multiple cities in 2015 and will be held at a convenient hotel conference room (see below for cities and tentative dates):
|City||Day 1||Day 2||Day 3||Day 4|
|Philadelphia, PA||Tues, 2/10||Tues, 3/10||Tues, 4/7||Tues, 5/5|
|Cincinnati, OH||Tues, 2/24||Tues, 3/24||Tues, 4/21||Tues, 5/19|
|Atlanta, GA||Thurs, 3/19||Thurs, 4/16||Thurs, 5/14||Thurs, 6/11|
|Boston, MA||Tues, 9/15||Tues, 10/13||Tues, 11/10||Tues, 12/8|
Note that registration deadline for Philadelphia workshop is January 30, 2015. Register today!
An alternative to the regional workshops is an online format. Typically the course is conducted in (12) 2-hour online modules that are scheduled weekly so that the entire course can be completed in approximately (3) months, but the dates and times can be customized to fit the attendee’s schedule. This format is ideal for companies who want to minimize travel costs.
Customized Onsite Workshop
A final alternative is that the workshop can be conducted onsite. This offers advantages as the course can be customized for a specific company and accommodate multiple attendees from the same company. Contact New Product Visions for additional information on this alternative.
And what about the benefits for any of the workshop formats? Data suggests that only about 18% of senior managers are satisfied with their ability to manage innovation. That means there are significant opportunities to improve the effectiveness of every organization’s abilities to manage innovation, no matter the size of the company. Improving the effectiveness not only means more products to market faster, but just as importantly, choosing and defining more meaningful new products that are more successful when launched.
One benchmark metric to consider is the percent of revenue generated by new products. To arrive at this metric, the percent of revenue from products introduced in the last three (3) years is divided by the total annual revenue. Most data suggests that if you are generating 35% of your revenue on products introduced in the last three (3) years, you have a robust process. More often than not, this is not the case. If you consider the possibility that just a 1% increase in revenue growth is easily achievable, that dwarfs the cost of the course. In addition, there is a 100% money back guarantee so your risk is minimized.
What do past attendees think of the workshop? When asked if attendees would recommend the workshop to a colleague, 100% say they would. When asked to rank the overall quality of the content on a scale of 1 to 7, with 7 being excellent, the overall average was 6.1. Some example comments from attendees include:
“The interaction between the instructor and attendees kept the presentation interesting.”
“Good balance and practical ideas”
“Covered a lot. Very comprehensive-good amount of participation.”
“Days 1-4 packed. Good to think about what we’re doing and other options. Great!”
